Full Description
Medieval town of Newmarket - defined on HER map mainly after plan of P May showing Newmarket in 1472 (S1). Also see (S2).
Includes churches of All Saints (NKT 001) and St Marys (NKT 002). Market granted circa 1200. Grants of fairs in 1227 & 1292.
Further details, up to reign of Charles II at least, in various unchecked sources eg, (R1, R2).
