Full Description

Site of former Lower Green, with houses on north, south & south-west sides, shown on Hodskinson's 1783 map (S1). Now area of extensive earthworks in long standing pasture. Links to further earthworks to S (see HIG 004).
Original boundaries & precise date unknown. Still named Lower Green on 1880s & later OS maps. Other earlier maps not checked. Defined on HER approximately after Hodskinson. Detailed earthwork survey needed.
