Full Description
Following the discovery of a Roman bronze coin hoard by a metal detectorist, on arable land at Elveden, a small excavation centred on the find spot recovered a total of 621 coins, deposited during or after the reign of Allectus (AD293-296). The coins had been placed in a pottery vessel, and buried upon the edge of a ditch, with the site possibly being marked by a few large flints (S1).
