Full Description
Human bones including skull, ribs, arm and part of pelvis found in foundation trench for house extension (NW corner). [Note - this may have actually been the NE rather than the NW corner].
Skull found about 35cm down with ribs etc below for another 20cm approximately. No associated finds, not an extended burial - possibly crouched in an area about 2 feet in diameter (S1).
Formerly recorded as BTM Misc due to failure to find map showing location of 'The Croft' - revised to BTM 037 on recognition of site location in Sept 2006.
Note 1: The Croft was formerly the home of Dr Parsons, a local MD and amateur antiquarian.
Note 2: Roman cremation BTM 001 within about 100m to NE.
