Full Description

Scatter of Post Medieval finds was identified during monitoring at 4 Bridge Foot, Cross Street. Artefactual material included domestic ceramics, glass and discarded metalwork. The finds all are Post Medieval in date and mostly date to the 19th and 20th centuries. The deposits revealed during the monitoring probably represents deliberately made up ground designed to provide levelling and ground elevation for riverside occupation. The finds probably indicate a relative late data for this made up ground (S1).
