Full Description
N-S long low mound earthwork, circa 50m long by 7m wide and 0.3m high. Possibly pillow mound (associated with rabbit warren) or even long barrow but could also be northern part of eastern boundary of arable field shown on 1880s OS map. Uncertain. S end seems to fade and N end ends at forest ride so possibly incomplete.
Note parallel to westermost of linear banks STN 062 (c. 37m to E) supporting Med/Post Med date.

The long, low mound described above was not definitely identified on the consulted aerial photographs or lidar imagery. Its position coincides with a plantation boundary depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map (S2), and evident on 1940s aerial photographs (such as S3), and its interpretation as a late post medieval field and/or plantation boundary seems plausible. Alternatively, it could instead equate to the probable boundary bank visible as an earthwork (possibly now levelled) on aerial photographs (S4) approximately 10m to the east, which is aligned at an angle to the plantation boundary. This forms part of a large group of probably post medieval boundaries recorded as SHER STN 156; see that record for details.
