Full Description

An Anglo-Saxon burial was found c.150m to the south in the 19th century. An evaluation investigated possible other burials or associated settlement extending into this area. Trial trenches revealed no archaeological features or deposits. All topsoil finds were of 20th century date except for a single post-medieval pottery base of the 16th-18th century. Documentary research suggests that this site was occupied by woodland and was on the parish boundary (S1).
