Full Description
The stripping of topsoil from land off Bardwell Road Ixworth revealed natural chalk directly below the soil. Linear features exposed in the chalk can be identified as frost wedges. No archaeological features were found and four objects including two Roman coins recovered by metal detecting does not represent a significant assemblage given the proximity of the Roman settlement and probable road to the site (S1).
