Summary

A post medieval gravel pit and probable flint mine survives as an earthwork. It is depicted on a 19th century Ordnance Survey map, has been visited on the ground and is visible on imagery from a 2015 lidar survey. Although marked as a gravel pit on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map, it contains and is surrounded by post medieval gunflint production waste. Also, gullies and hollows visible within the pit on the lidar imagery are similar to those recorded at other post medieval flint mines, such as BRD 138 215m to the east.
