Full Description
Abbey House ice-house. 'Shown of the estate map as being situated in the W portion of the two halves of the so-called Queen's chamber, which was excavated in 1979 (R1). In fact no sign of it was found. It is now believed to be under the mound supporting two splendid oaks (with preservation orders) on top. A section of re-used stone work on the N side may denote part of the entrance passage.' (S1)(R2)(R3)
