Full Description

An evaluation was carried out in advance of the construction of eight wildlife ponds and associated works. Eight trenches (total area 75.80m2) were excavated, representing approximately 7% of the area affected by the proposed development. Prior to the evaluation the site was in agricultural use. The natural stratum was glacio-fluvial sand. In the northern half of the site this was truncated by two large pits, probably post-medieval quarries (S1).
