Full Description
Built c. 1860. original building consists of a red-brick, single roomed structure with a slate roof. It extended 9.5m x 6.4m. There are 3 large sash windows in each side elevation and a single door in the south gable. It symmetrical interior was embellished with moulded window sills in gault brick and pedimented door case, which has now been obscured by a later porch.
A small additional room of 2.75mx2.75m was added to the N gable before 1886 and a number of rear extensions were built in piecemeal during the 20th C.
The building is a good example of its type, but the interior has been re-fitted and its windows replaced.
The church became independent in 1951 and redundant in 2006. possibly acted as a private Baptist burial ground, but no obvious internments have been recorded, so this is uncertain.
