Full Description

Evaluation and monitored stripping prior to the construction of a reservoir on land northwest of Great Finborough Parish Church located a post-medieval boundary ditch present on the first edition Ordnance Survey map, in addition to an earlier field system of uncertain date, and some shallow modern linear features. A small fragment of prehistoric pottery was found within the undated ditch system, though it appears to be residual (S1).
