Full Description
The stable block (now mapped as 'Stable Flats') of Elveden Hall was adopted as the Officer's Mess, with the area to the south (Lord Iveagh's estate) being used for battle and tank training for the first tanks prior to use during WW1. Trenches one and a half mile's wide were constructed on the estate in 1916 (see WSW Misc).
