Recorded as part of the Farmsteads in the Suffolk Countryside Project. This is a purely desk-based study and no site visits were undertaken. These records are not intended to be a definitive assessment of these buildings. Dating reflects their presence at a point in time on historic maps and there is potential for earlier origins to buildings and farmsteads. This project highlights a potential need for a more in depth field study of farmstead to gather more specific age data.

Late 16th C timber-framed farmhouse, which was orignally plastered but later encased in brick c.1900. The house has a thatched roof and a red brick chimney. Associated with this house is a late 16th C timber-framed barn, with a brick floor and originally a tiled roof. The barn originally had a three-bay plan with a central threshing floor, however it was extended by three bays in the early 19th C and a porch was also added. The roof was entirely reconstructed in the late 17th C with a clasped purlin type design. There is also a 19th C granary (S1).
