Full Description

Two barns in the grounds of Little Stonham Hall. The first is a 16th C timber-framed and weatherboarded structure with a tiled roof. It originally had 5 bays, one of which was used for stabling, however c.1600 2 additional bays were added to provide extra stabling. This barn also has a queenpost roof. The second barn was constructed in the 17th C and is timber-framed, weatherboarded and plastered with a tiled roof. This is an 8 bay barn which was partly used for stabling and in addition it has a clasped-purlin roof. A number of alterations were made to this structure in the 18th C (S1).
