A stone, then standing in the Rectory grounds at Worlingworth, was pointed out by Rev F French as "credited to have been, in Roman days, an altar erected near the sea at Aldeburgh. There is no distinct feature or characteristic by which this claim can be supported." (S1). Formerly recorded as ADB MISC
