Full Description

Recorded in gazetteer of significant Industrial Archaeological sites extracted from a 1980 booklet entitled 'Industrial Archaeology in and around Norfolk' and revised as 'Suffolk IA Sites in 1980' in Suffolk Industrial Archaeological Society Newsletter (SIAS Newsletter, 115, Nov 2011) where it is described as:
Abbot's Hall. Large collection of farm implements and machinery, plus re-erected buildings which include a smithy, Alton Watermill, and Minsmere Windpump, all in working order (S1).
Nov 2011: John Jones adds: museum has acquired further buildings, including a large two-storey workshop formerly at Robert Boby's works in Bury St Edmunds. The Minsmere windpump is in a very dilapidated condition (S1).
