Full Description

Representation of a water-wheel and channel with the words `here stode a water mill now decaid' on John Norden's survey of Orford, circa 1600. 1954: Heavy oak timbers found well preserved in wet soil during construction of a sewer across site - details with Major Steuart-Gratton. 1970: Site visit revealed similar timbers visible below water in nearby dyke (S1).
