Summary

Two walls of vertically placed 10ins diameter pine logs, approx. 12ins apart - the space between filled with sandbags. Loopholes cut, one per wall. Roof of pine logs with sand bags over. Approx. square in plan, probably about 10ft x 10ft, with open doorway at back. Inspired by well-meaning Lord of the Henham Estate: the strongpoint was known as 'The Bughut'. Unsure which side of the A12 it was situated. Could be in Henham Parish.

At road junction of minor road with A12, quarter mile S of Wangford village. Two walls of vertically placed 10ins diameter pine logs, approx. 12ins apart - the space between filled with sandbags. Loopholes cut, one per wall. Roof of pine logs with sand bags over. Approx. square in plan, probably about 10ft x 10ft, with open doorway at back. Inspired by well-meaning Lord of the Henham Estate: the strongpoint was known as 'The Bughut'.
