Full Description

East Lane, Bawdsey. Single storey 'L'-plan with curved elevation to searchlight emplacement - flat, reinforced concrete, with possible generator building to south (S1).

Rectangular searchlight emplacement located in precarious position on sea defences, East Lane, Original location uncertain. It measured 7.2m by 4.1m and if concrete construction with evidence of wooden shuttering with an over hanging rood. The searchlight bay on the east side has collapsed. Two access doors, one of the south side with the other on the west. Comprises two linked rooms, one for searchlight and one a control room? (S2).
