Summary

Type 22 pillbox, with 2 embrasures per face. One embrasure is approx. in centre of wall and the second (about one-third of the size of the first) is on the extreme right of the face [pistol ports?]. Steel reinforcing plates approx. 18ins x 6ins are bolted at top of main embrasures on outer face. Concrete outer facing with brick inner skin. Corrugated sheet shuttering for inside of roof.

In woods (Southwold Covert) 100 feet E of junction of A12 with A1095. Type 22 pillbox, with 2 embrasures per face. One embrasure is approx. in centre of wall and the second (about one-third of the size of the first) is on the extreme right of the face [pistol ports?]. Steel reinforcing plates approx. 18ins x 6ins are bolted at top of main embrasures on outer face. Concrete outer facing with brick inner skin. Corrugated sheet shuttering for inside of roof.
