Summary

Type 27 pillbox. Internal and external brick shuttering. Round central pillar, square vents. Entrance faces S (embankment). Nearly all exterior brick shuttering gone. No steel plates at embrasures.

Full Description

On W bank of River Stour at NW junction with former railway (now footpath), below embankment - River Stour railway bridge, Ballingdon, Sudbury. Type 27 pillbox. Internal and external brick shuttering. Round central pillar, square vents. Entrance faces S (embankment). Nearly all exterior brick shuttering gone. No steel plates at embrasures (S1).

Part of defence works associated with the Colne - Mildenhall stopline (S2).
