Full Description

15th C timber-framed open hall house with two cross wings, concealed by a 19th C façade. This is a typical merchant's house of the late Middle Ages. It contains a rare smoke bay as well as a crown-post roof with some evidence of sooting and also a number of mullioned window frames. However much of the medieval fabric has either been removed or concealed and a number of alterations have been made to the house through time (S1).
