Full Description

An archaeological watching brief was conducted for Anglian Water ahead of a new water mains supply which was laid in fields to the north of the village of Icklingham in Suffolk. One 1.3km narrow pipe trench was excavated through farmland beside a track and was monitored. A few features that may have been drainage or boundary ditches of indeterminate date were recorded crossing the pipe trench. No other archaeological remains were encountered during these works (S1).
