Summary

Basil Brown notes that 11 sherds of coarse, undecorated pottery were found on the Warren,`just N of road to Wangford and just within Lakenheath boundary', by R Rainbird Clarke in the surface soil of a shallow sandpit in 1937 (S1).

Full Description

Basil Brown notes that 11 sherds of coarse, undecorated pottery were found on the Warren,`just N of road to Wangford and just within Lakenheath boundary', by R Rainbird Clarke in the surface soil of a shallow sandpit in 1937 (S1). Mentioned by Clarke as having been given to Ipswich Museum after finding them north of the road to Wangford (S2).
Not found in IPSMG cards at SAU.
Location centred to sandpits marked on pre-airfield map showing `route of turnpike' and (`site of') `Warren Lodge' (at TL 731 819) - year, scale and printer of map not stated on original record sheet.
