Full Description

Area of partially surviving historic landscape, Great Perry Down.
Acreware land, suggesting early (in this case suggested to be Saxon) tenure of farmland including 'sackage' land - (giving grazing rights) and 'campo' names. Defined by local historian Vera Lloyd using various early maps, field names and other documents (her map is held in large hanging cabinet) (S1).
The internal field boundaries have now mostly gone.
