Full Description
2012: A single evaluation trench was excavated on land to the rear of 23 and 26 Hall Close, The Street, in Icklingham, Suffolk. This revealed four postholes and three possible pits, as well as a further possible posthole, all sealed by an undated soil layer. No finds were recovered from the site, but the features pre-date the hall that stood on the site in the 19th century. The archaeological deposits were well preserved (S1).
2014: Monitoring during residential development did not reveal any further features or finds (S2).
