Full Description

16th century house formed by incorporating two earlier structures, although it isn't clear whether these were 14th century cottages seen on this plot on early maps, or later 15th/early16th century structures built on the same footprint. Certainly the current building incorporates 14th century timbers. Some rebuilding and extension occurred during the 17th century, with further alterations carried out in all preceeding centuries. The survival of historic fabric, including 17th century timber paneling, adds to the significance of this building. A 19th C timber-framed and weatherboarded barn is also associated with the house (S1).
