Full Description

Ring ditch, circa 38m diameter to W of, and part of, barrow cemetery N of Shottisham - see STT 004, 005 & 007-010.
1981: Heath then ploughed (S1). Eastern half of E area ploughed. Small scatter of struck flint over most of the surface. Some rabbit holes. Natural dip in W-centre corresponds to gap between 3 northern and 3 southern ring ditches.
1985: W area freshly ploughed when visited. Nothing visible on surface.
January 1998: Scheduled area revised - details in (S1).

September 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
The ring ditch described above is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S3)-(S12).
A Bronze Age date has tentatively been suggested in the light of its apparent relationship with the barrow cemetery recorded as SHER STT 064. The available photographs were difficult to rectify hence the location of the features should be treated with a hint of caution.
