Full Description

Monitoring of groundworks for an extension to Suddon Hall, Kenton, was carried out as a condition of the planning consent, in order to record any archaeological evidence present. The site lies within a medieval moated site, with only fragments of a once square moat surviving. Strip foundations revealed evidence of the backfilled northern arm of the moat and a probable late medieval or early post-medieval bridge (S1).
