Full Description

2013-2014: Excavation identified evidence of Iron Age activity in the form of pits, one of which contained the remains of a neonate. This activity continued into the Roman period and a series of ditches were present and pits one of which contained a large amound of fired clay and burnt organic material suggesting the remains of an oven might have been deposited here. A hearth was also found. A substantial pit of post-medieval date was present which might have been a pond or a possible quarry site. A possible field system of post medieval date was also identified.
