Full Description

2013-2014: An archaeological evaluation revealed undated, Bronze Age, and Late Iron Age to Roman features across the site. Most features identified during the evaluation were undated. Most of the dated features on the site are of this period and appear to belong to a single field system across much of the southern area of the site. A ditch containing bronze age pottery, burnt daub and heat-altered flints was also identified. This feature is believed to be the edge of a Bronze Age ring ditch, though the size is more suggestive of a domestic ring-ditch rather than a burial mound ditch. A single pit or ditch terminus of this date was also identified (S1)(S2)(S3). Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2014 (S4).
