Full Description

2013-2014 - Excavation uncovered a large hollow in the SW part of this area which contained 237 struck flints of late Neolithic date. A possible pit of Roman date was found in the central part of the western section of this area and a small pit of Saxon date was also present. The Western edge of the west of this area contained a series of medieval ditches and the remains of a medieval flint-lined well were also found and a number of medieval pits across the site. A probable post medieval field system was also identified. (S1)
