Full Description
The superficial geology varied across the site but was generally clayey sand with gravel. The natural strata were overlaid by disturbed deposits of post-medieval and modern subsoil and topsoil. A large pit, backfilled in the early 20th century, might have been associated with the use of Goodlands Farm as a tannery in the 19th century (S1).
