Full Description

2014: An archaeological evaluation revealed two areas of significant Roman remains in the north west and north east corners of the site. The Roman features included a pit, a small number of well-defined post holes which may represent a structure and a layer of dark earth or midden material. A series of five undated ditches were also identified. Their alignment does not appear to correspond to the present field boundary and are presumed to be dated before the 19th century (S1).

Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2014 (S2).
