Full Description
Finningham Railway Station (located in Bacton Parish), on the London to Norwich main line, opened in 1849. It closed in 1966 along with other smaller stations on the line.
Around 1900 Finningham had two platforms joined by a footbridge, a small goods shed and cattle pens on the up (east) side of the line and a loop and sidings on the down side. A siding to the south also handled grain traffic. The signal box was situated on the south end of the down platform opposite the main station building which was to the north of the goods shed. A small brick platform shelter was on the down side for Norwich bound passengers.
