Archaeological evaluation trenching revealed a large pit across the site. This pit was determined to be an extraction pit or evidence of quarrying dated to the 18th century. The evaluation recovered small quantities of pottery, brick, tile and clay of post medieval date. It was concluded that this site lay on the periphery of the main Medieval settlement areas of the village (S1).
