Full Description
2013: An archaeological community event excavating 29 test pits by local residents and other volunteers. The event was organised by the Hoxne Heritage Group, as part of their HLF funded project 'The Story of Hoxne'. The test pits frequently demonstrated that preserved archaeological layers are present - see HXN 062, 063-072 and DEN 012
Post-medieval pottery was recovered from Test Pit 4 at Yew Tree House which is a Grade II listed 16th century building (National Ref: 1032481). Additional finds include two complete glass bottles, the remains of glass jars and some brick samples (S1).
