Full Description

Archaeologial monitoring revealed the presence of three features and a buried soil. Two ofthe features appeared to be pits whilst a third may have been a ditch. None of these contained datable finds but the nature of the finds, oyster shell and animal bone, may be indicative of Roman occupation. The buried soil also contained oyster shell-and animal bone but in addition a single sherd ofRoman pottery was found. The buried soil overlayed all the features and may have filled one of the pits (S1).
