Full Description
2006: A single coin was identified evaluation at the Kings Head, Sproughton Road while metal-detecting over a stripped area on the western side of the site. It is a silver voided long-cross penny dating to the reign of Henry III. The obverse shows a facing bust with sceptre left, with the legend HENRICUS REX III. The reverse shows a voided long cross with 3 pellets in each quadrant REN/AVD/ONL/UND. The coin dates to 1251-1272. It was made at the London mint and the moneyer is Renaud (Class V, possibly Vg) (S1).
