Full Description

2014: An archaeological evaluation revealed five demolition layers sealing a c.19th century structure. Little was found of surviving archaeological remains other than the foundations. The structure may be dated to the early 19th century as indicated by the dating of copyhold papers of 1818 to 1858. A basal layer consisting of burnt remains possibly relate to the destruction of the nineteenth century by burning (S1). Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2014 (S2).
