Full Description
Hand excavation of foundation and service trenches for new build. Site lies within the former precinct of the Augustinian Priory. The excavations on site revealed buried soil horizons which contained a moderate finds assemblage including domestic pottery vessels, imported Flemish brick and worked structural stone fragments. The presence of the imported Flemish brick suggests the presence of a high status building near to the site and it would be easy to assume that this links directly to the Augustine Priory (See ORF 002) (S1).
