Full Description
2012: Evaluation trenching for an Anglian Water Pipeline revealed an undated ditch. Fragments of post-medieval brick were recovered from the topsoil in the trench. The ditch runs adjacent to the roadway. The ditch would represent the original roadside ditch of Roman date, or could be a re-cut medieval roadside ditch (S1).
Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2013 (S2)
Archaeological desk based assessment of the route of the water main (S3).
