Full Description

2013-2014: The most significant feature exposed by excavation in this area was a buried soil (in the southern portion of this area). This soil yielded a large assemblage of struck flint including over 20 late Neolithic/early Bronze Age flint scrapers and late Neolithic/early Bronze Age pottery including sherds of beaker pottery and collared urn. T-shaped corn drier or Roman date was also present in the southern area which contained Roman pottery and also a significant quantity of charred spelt wheat and barley grain. A ditch of similar date was also found. Several post medieval ditches were found across the area. (S1)
