Full Description
A small pit and possible post hole were identified in the evaluation trench. The pit was circular and measured approximately 0.85m in diameter and 0.35m deep. It had a very high charcoal content and contained worked flint, burnt flint and a single sherd of Early Bronze Age pottery. The post hole was only partially exposed within the trench but it measured 0.65m wide and 0.20m deep. No evidence for dating this feature was recovered. These features may represent a continuation of the activity seen in Trench 176 (See RGH 069) (S1).
Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2013 (S2)
Archaeological desk based assessment of the route of the water main (S3).
