Full Description

2013-2014: The earliest activity identified by the excavation was a layer of burnt flint and charcoal dated to the Bronze Age period and the quantity of burnt flint might indicate the presence of craft/industrial activities nearby. Ditches representing an Iron Age field system were also found and a ditch dated to the Roman period which could represent a later field boundary. A large medieval hollow was also identified. (S1)
