Full Description

2014: An archaeological evaluation revealed a medieval pit and ditch containing pottery and a nail. The pit is likely to represent quarrying and the ditch is likely to be a property boundary. Two post medieval pits were also identified that produced pottery, clay pipes, roof tile and slag. These pits were likely also related to quarrying (S1). Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2014 (S2).
