Full Description

June 2015. Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme.
A circular bank feature of possible Cold war date is visible on aerial photographs between a network of World War Two anti-glider ditches (SHER SUT 105). It was difficult to be certain about the nature of this feature, since it was only visible on one set of post World War Two photographs, and it was not possible to decide whether the feature is cut by, or respects the position of the anti-glider ditches. Since it was not visible on photographs from World War Two, it has tentatively been assigned a later date, although it is possible that it could have an earlier date. The feature was mapped from an imperfectly rectified image, and its location must also be viewed with some caution. It is also possible that this feature may represent the remnant of a medieval to post medieval warren bank, as there are several other possible warren features recorded in this area.
