Full Description

1994-1995: Scatter of Roman coins, Medieval buckles and a seal matrix and a Post Medieval buckle. These artefacts were found during metal detecting. The coins all are of 3rd to 4th century date and include a silver silique of Julian (360-363). The Medieval bronze seal matrix has the inscription “S’DOM:KAID+HVNDREDO.DE:/ALOWES/BREGGE” or “Seal of the constable of ?the hundred of Alowesbregge”. Alowesbregge is the hundred of Aloesbridge in Kent, comprising of the parishes of Snargate, Fairfield, Brookland, Brenset and Snave (S1).
